Rookie League

The objectives of this division are to teach the game of baseball, and to prepare the players for the next levels of the sport.  Players will learn hitting, fielding, base-running, sportsmanship, and the rules of the game.  

  • Ages 4 to 6

  • No player evaluations.  Teams are formed by the League.

  • Coach pitch.

  • No game scores are kept.

  • There are no season standings.

  • Participation in the post-season All Star tournament optional.

  • If rule is not stated, normal baseball rules apply.

  • Distance between bases will be 60’.

  • The Home team coach will pitch to the Visiting batters.

  • There are no umpires the coaches are responsible for keeping track of the outs and instructing the kids and may be on the field while playing the field.

  • The entire roster of players present for the game will be placed in the batting order.  

  • All the players in the field and play 3 total innings for their games.

  • After 5 pitches in the Rookie League the coaches may use a tee to all the batter to hit the ball.

  • There will be no catchers in Rookie league the coach of the batting team will catch and will be able to instruct his kids while hitting.

  • Base runners are not permitted to steal a base and shall remain in contact with the base until the ball is past the batter. PENALTY: Runner is out & ball is dead.

  • There is no infield fly rule.

  • The ball is live on overthrows. 

  • Time limit is 1 hour for Rookie League.  If time limit is reached score reverts back to last inning completed
